Welcome to Artist's Palette Yarns
We are Rick and Juliet, and we handpaint beautiful yarns and rovings.
We offer you a whole spectrum of colours and shades in tones from light to dark, and everything in-between. We will also custom dye any colour or quantity. 'Contact us' with your requirements.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COLOURS
Batches are usually between 2 and 6 skeins. You may find small variations within a batch, but the overall colour feel will be the same, as the dye will all have come from the same pot. Repeat batches can be dyed, but they are bound to differ slightly from the original. This is the charm of hand dyed yarn, and what makes it stand apart from factory dyed yarns. However, if you need a specific amount of yarn for a project, then we can dye a batch specially for you, and at no extra cost. Please 'contact us' with your requirements.
All our yarn and fibres are from top quality British suppliers. We are committed to using British products and companies as much as possible, for the obvious eco reasons, and also because we have such a wealth of fantastic resources right here. We are historically a great wool producing nation and have many quality, and sometimes unique, breeds of sheep, all producing wool with unique characteristics. A colossal amount gets thrown away or destroyed at present. It is therefore important that as much of our wool as possible is from British growers. We hope to have more information for you on this subject at a later date.
We dye using acid dyes. There are very safe to use, are non toxic and have little impact on the environment both in use and disposal.
Finally, we aim to deliver a quality product and service. We operate with integrity and honesty, and good customer service is a high priority. Please 'contact us' if you have any issues at all, and we will do our best to help.
