and a DK preview

These lovelies are currently on a UK tour, showing their faces at H-art and Ally Pally on my friend Anne’s Artisan Yarns stand, and they’ve still got one to go – FibreFlurry in Birmingham this weekend.  Then they will be joined by me at Anne’s open studio weekend in Hereford the following weekend.  They’ll then return to the fold to be put on my virtual shelves around 8th/9th November.

Here’s a little look…

Merino Cashmere dk, 212m per 100g.

And a sneak peek of some patterns I’m writing up to go with them, taking one or two skeins:

..and off it goes to Ally Pally

I’ve sent some yarn off on a little trip to London, to the Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace.  There is a lot of Smoothie Sock (yes, that is why the shelves are a little bare!), and some Sweet Feet in new colours not yet in the shop.  You will find them on the Artisan Yarns stand, along with Anne’s lovely naturally dyed silks and linen.

IKnit Weekender

All packed for IKnit now :)

Some of the Smoothie Sock from the shop is also coming, hence the slightly bare shelves in the Smoothie Sock department!  There will be loads and loads of new colours too, and I am also taking new colours of Sweet Feet and Cloud, for all those lovely drapey shawls!  Oh, and some fibre!

See you there :D

Where has all the yarn gone?

Well….. the sock yarn from the shop is taking a little trip to Stirling this weekend with my friend Anne from Artisan Yarns.  Do drop by her stand if you can – she has some really lovely lace, and lots of other goodies to tempt!  I may even send up some pretty fibre!

There is also loads of Smoothie Sock to be uploaded into the shop in the next day or two, in rather a lot of colours!  Should be there by the weekend :)

Knit Nation

I’ll be there!!!

I’m not on the official list, but I will have my mini-wall of colour making up part of the Artisan Yarns stand, number 119.

I’ve been dyeing, dyeing and dyeing some more!  I shall be taking mostly Smoothie Sock, my favourite of all my sock yarns, and some of my lovely alpaca, silk and cashmere Anna’s Lace.

I decided early on to concentrate on the aspect of dyeing I like the best – the colour- rather than many different yarn bases. They will all be non-pooling colours.   I am especially pleased with these two..

The first is a really deep bronze with bronzy greens and plum, and all the warm browns that a mix of the two makes.  The second is an amazingly saturated olive green.  In fact I like them so much, I am going to keep some skeins all to myself!   To knit a Tempest!

Might get it finished for autumn…….2015

Happy knitting  :D

This week I’ve been mostly…

…trying not to panic!

You may have noticed that there is hardly any sock yarn in the shop.  Fear not, my knitty chums,  it’s all going to Harrogate for the Knitting and Stitching Show.  Nothing ever sells out, so there will be some replenishment next week.  The yarn will be on  the Artisan Yarns stand.  There will be lots of sock yarn with some quite shocking yellows and purples (scroll down!), and some of the lovely Berry Hill fingerless mitten kits which include a 50g skein of Buttersoft dk dyed specially for the kits, a set of KnitPro 3.25mm dpn’s, 3 stitch markers and the pattern, all presented in a pretty organza gift/project bag!

And just so you know what to look for , turn to page 55 of this month’s Yarn Forward (issue 20).  The pic (the one with the socks) is uncredited, BUT. IT’S. MY. YARN :D   :D

And whilst all that is going on, I’ll be dyeing up more soft gorgeousness for your delight and delectation…

Happy knitting x

It’s not all gone……really!

You will find that the Smootherino, Smoothie Sock  and most of the Damsel has mysteriously vanished from the shop.  Do not panic…yet.  It, and lot’s more besides, is going to be trundling to Alexandra Palace for the Knitting and Stitching Show.  My display will be part of the Artisan Yarns stand, and I’m taking this little lot down tomorrow and helping to  set up.

Apologies for naff photo taken just now with OTT flash and very poor lights :$

I’m coming home after setting up, then going down for the weekend, which I’m seriously looking forward to.  I love the exhibitions at these shows.  For me, they make the entrance fee worthwile all by themselves.

Maybe I’ll see you there :D
